My topic is recycling. I find a website that support and work on recycling in the United States. The article told me how to recycle and how it helps the world. However, the Strong argument they had was how can recycling help you and others around you. Recycling newsprint, office paper and mixed paper can save over 8 million trees a year. The article changed my view toward recycling. I would like to start recycling more to save the Earth.
Hetch Hetchy
The story started in a slow pace. Many small details help me describe the beauty of the nature. while I read along the story, I became more interest to the topic he is talking about. He used some emotional and ethical argument which persuade me.
Persuasion Experience
When I was thinking of deciding which college to attend. I was persuaded by my guardian. First I was thinking that I should attend to a UC school. My grades and my test scores was not high enough. I was thinking of attending VC for two years and transfer to another school. It is going to be easy and each. However, my guardian changed my idea. He introduced Cal State school. He suggested attend to a Cal State that you like and stay at the dorms. The life of a University will be fun and better. If you are not comfortable or wanted to transfer do a different school. I could get scholarship and financial aid and it would be cheaper and better at a University. Know I am working harder to get into a University for a better education and better college life that I am looking forward too.
Film “An Inconvenient Truth”
The film “An Inconvenient Truth” by Gore shows the problem of Global Warming. His presentation gives a large influence on the viewers. Gore uses a strong speech to persuasive the audience. His speech make the audience guilt in their past action, but also gives a hope to change Global Warming. A good presentation is supported by good logic and facts. Gore used strong facts to support his opinion. He also shows the facts using visual, graph, short film, and pictures for the audience could understands easier and gives a good impression on them. In the film Gore used comedy to keep the audience company and some his childhood story and his emotional story to get clause to the audience. For scientific discussion he uses logic and for opinion he uses emotions support him. The presentation is well planed and well performed.
My Natural Home
California is my home. I have only lived here for three years, but its my home and I love it. From Afterword “Coming into the Waterbed” my favorite line “California is made up of what I to be about six regions. They are of respectable size and votive beauty, each with its own makeup, its own mix of bird calls and plant smells. Each of these propose a slightly different lifestyle to the human beings who live there” (Snyder 358). California is beautiful place. The coast felled clean soft sand, Mountains with lots of nature, and cities with nice people. Slowly California is changing. Trees or cut down and burned, animal are having trouble living and more houses and building are made. If we go at this rate California our home is going down hill in a rapid speed. I would love to keep our home as it is. More trash exist at the beach, mountains and side walk. We must consider our future and California’s futer, the place we love.
Borders
There is been many problems with borders in the world. There is been wars discarding about the borders. Know in the United States there a large problem with the border between the United States and Mexico. Many illegal immigrants from Mexico are building problems in the United Stets such as economy, financial, and work. My border is with my parents. There is a border line in rules, what I can do and what I cannot do. Now I am leaving off to college and we are building a line between me and my mom. A border is not just counties, states and houses. My borders are relationship with people and rules. Making decision with the relationship that I am having with a person and making a line good and bad. Border could be a problem or significant.
Anzaldua
Comparing and contrasting Anzaldua and other writers, Anzaldua has a unique writing process. In her writings she includes imageries and metaphors just like other writers. However, she includes e a lot of details in her story to make the reader feel like there are in the story. Another difference between her and the some of the other writer have is the way of writing the story. She writes her stories like she is telling the story to person, where most writers follow the proper writing, such as using proper contraction and structures. The different way of learning how the write make a difference in their writing styles.
